Hi, it is so nice to meet you!

My search for happiness and life purpose lead to years of travelling. Not only finding my own purpose but something way bigger. Ending up in secluded places, participating in lives where ancient traditions where being preserved and continued. Learning from the most special, genuine and authentic teachers striving to preserve their way of healthy living in harmony with nature. Honoring and sharing their knowledge, remedies, ceremonies, traditions and recipes.

Exploring and finding not only the center of myself, but also what really matters in this world.

An 48 hour bus ride from LA to Mexico, more than 15 years ago, and still I remember staring at the numerous bright stars and the infinity of the sky. For hours, I was so impressed. For the first time being aware of the immense size of our universe. Realizing: There is so much more out there.

It was only years later to get back to this thought and make the drastic decision to quit my job and leave my ambition in the battle I had been fighting for years. No space for failure, being the best, as fast as possible in a multinational commercial organization. Which was neither giving me any sensation of deep satisfaction nor happiness.

Discovering many countries, finding a new home and living in India, Indonesia and Colombia. Indulging, learning and teaching. Yoga bringing me back to my roots while challenging me. Teaching me what I am capable of, to feel strong and let go, accepting what I cannot do. To always go back to my inner calmness. And giving me so much knowledge about the working of the physical body and all its subtleties. Ayurveda, teaching me its infinite ancient science of holistic healing. Learning different types of massages in several countries, learning to listen to what the body is telling and what it needs. Studying, practicing and studying more, a lifetime journey in these ancient arts.

Now, living in between Holland and Colombia. Living and teaching an holistic lifestyle preventing and healing (both physical and mental) imbalances, illness and disease. Using different disciplines and techniques from the most ancient and traditional knowledge about well being, healing and medicine.

I found the love of my live in Colombia. Sitting in a tipi, in a Peyote ceremony, where he was part of the organisation. Not knowing him, I realized he was the one. Not able to communicate with each other due to the language barrier I did not take this realization too serious. But, it turned out to be even more beautiful than I could have imagined (and it was a good reason to quickly start learning Spanish)! In 2021 we got a beautiful daughter, enriching our lives.

We keep reminding each other to live from our hearts and living our dreams. That everything and anything is possible. To share the knowledge given to us and make changes. To keep on planting dreams and share what makes the world a happier, healthier and better place. For us, for you and all that surrounds us.

Annika founded Sukhasika in 2018 after she already worked while traveling for several years as a certified Yoga Teacher and Massage therapist. She completed international trainings and additional courses in the field of Yoga, Massage, Ayurveda, pregnancy and postnatal guidance in India, Thailand, Holland and Colombia.

She taught yoga independently, in schools, to individuals and groups, to students and teachers in different places in the world. In 2018 and 2019 she set up a yogaschool and massagepractice in India before she got offered to learn from a traditional midwife in Colombia where she continued to teach and learn, deepening her knowledge in plantmedicine and women’s health.

Her fascination for natural and ancient healing methods create a continues process of exploration, investigation and lifelong development to understand and heal the  systems of the body and mind. Always going back to the root, what lays behind the surface. Keeping it practical but working intuitive, aware of the energetic power available to all of us.

Annika’s broad field of interest and holistic approach result in a number of services available. They might seem different but are all interconnected.
